RIB PROJECT

This is the official web page of the Titanium Rib Project, an FDA-sponsored clinical trial of an investigational surgical implant known as the Titanium Rib. We are the primary site of three in the world where this procedure is done, and are located at Santa Rosa Children's Hospital in San Antonio, Texas. Our project is affiliated with the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, under the Department of Orthopaedics.

For all you folks out there awaiting surgery, letters have been sent regarding dates
for the summer. 
  Lori and Bernice will get
you scheduled and of course if you have concerns or questions in the meantime you can call
either of them at the office. 

Just in case you're wondering, we're now up to 97 patients in the program!! No wonder it
feels so busy!  The Boston site (Boston Children's Hospital) had its first implant procedures
in August 1999, and so far things are going well.  Pittsburgh is also up and running, and we expect
new patients to be enrolled there soon.

world!  Again, all suggestions are welcome and anyone who has useful info or links to other

It's About Time!

It is our hope that this web site will become a useful resource for people involved in the study as well
as those who are interested in learning more about what we do here.  As you can see, we are currently and perpetually, it seems, under
construction.  We promise that in the very near future, great things await us all!  If you have suggestions, questions or comments about this site you should now direct them to Hugh Enockson, a proud parent of a famous riblet, Maggie Enockson, and - fortunately for us is also a skilled graphics designer who
has volunteered his time to whip this site into shape! He can be reached at hgenockson@home.com . In the meantime, please bear with us and don't forget we still have phones and can receive regular mail and email, though it sometimes requires a bit more patience to get through. We really are here, just swamped!
